Maintenance Technician/ Line Mechanic
Pay Range: $70,000 - $85,000 annually
Summary
Maintain production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery and mechanical equipment. This position is responsible for ensuring accurate and timely repairs. Effectively supports the PM program for the plant while ensuring downtime is minimized. Analyze problems and interpret technical information necessary to make needed repairs on equipment. Complete assigned work orders, assure all work assignments are completed and accurate records are maintained. Compile tool and parts lists for equipment for ordering. Compliance with company policies, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and safety standards.
Essential Functions
- Ensure operation of machinery and mechanical equipment by completing preventive maintenance. Following operational manuals, manufacturer's instructions and instructions on PM assignment work sheet
- Troubleshoot equipment, mechanically and electronically. Locate sources of problems and repair
- Remove defective parts and replace as needed
- Control and minimize downtime while maintaining communication with Maintenance Supervisor and Operations management
- Submit purchase requisitions with list of parts needed for repairs; identify if parts are for stock or for a specific project
- Responsible for reporting all activities or any line calls throughout the shift
- Complete Daily Log Reports, thoroughly complete work orders in MP2 system
- Maintains continuity among work teams by communicating actions, irregularities, and continuing needs
- Maintains safe and clean working environment by complying with procedures, rules, and regulations
- Suggests any opportunities for improvement on equipment or set ups that will help the process
- Maintains equipment, parts, and inventory by checking out parts from stock to determine inventory level
- Ensure Lock out Tag out procedures are applied and implemented when needed.
- All equipment necessary to provide service for Bakery support
Qualifications
- Must have the ability to troubleshoot and repair equipment, both mechanically and electrically.
- Have the ability to read electrical diagrams and schematics.
- Must have the ability to use a multi-meter, and operate shop power tools.
- Must have personal hand tools and tool box.
- Must be able to use a computer to enter daily information and MP2 data.
- Must be able to work night shifts and weekends.
- Must be able to be on call, (as needed)
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities
- Knowledge on AC, DC drives motors, motor controls, sensors, and electrical wiring.
- Knowledge and maintenance experience in PLCs, (Preferred)
- Punctuality and good attendance
- Minimum of 5 years of experience maintaining industrial manufacturing equipment.
